Dropping ignition spheres from a drone has many advantages over traditional ignition methods for both prescribed fire and waste pile management.
For prescribed fire, low altitude, precision lines can be calculated, and ignition sphere density can be increased or decreased. This helps fire managers understand exact timelines for their operations.
Because the drone can move from pile to pile and pause over a target, adjusting the drones location before dispensing a fixed number of spheres, waste pile ignition can be executed precisely and at relatively low costs.
